Boutique Yoga Classes in the  Studio

Embodied Yoga is a boutique studio where classes are small and each student receives individual attention.

All class attendance is by prior appointment only.

The undertaking at Embodied Yoga is to teach small classes of 6 to 8 students incorporating Beginners, General and Intermediate classes.

While the studio size limits the size of the classes, this is more desirable and practical in terms of being able to give each student the attention and guidance required.

The ability to teach Yoga in a more intimate setting enables students to have one on one guidance so they can learn postures and techniques more accurately than in large group situations.  If the techniques are taught correctly and with the right emphases, there is less likelihood of students forming “bad” habits and possibly harming themselves over time.  Better to learn a technique correctly in the first place, without over-zealousness or fanaticism;  then practise with attentiveness and patience – so as to absorb the benefits and avoid any harmful effects or reactions.

Yoga is meant to be practised in a non-competitive, non-harmful way with the individual accepting their limitations at a given point in time and moving progressively forward from there. The notion of trying to stretch, bend or twist as far as other students in the class should not be the aim. In a small class situation the teacher is able to identify more easily when students are over-extending themselves or adopting an incorrect technique. The appropriate corrections can then be made so that the true benefits of a particular practice can experienced by the student.
