Welcome to Embodied Yoga with Jenny Sherlock
At Embodied Yoga the focus is on an integrated approach to teaching yoga. This involves techniques and practices which benefit the whole person - physically, mentally, psychologically and spiritually. So in addition to the physical postures or asanas, breathing techniques, physical and mental relaxation techniques and meditation are incorporated into the lessons.
These days, particularly in Western society, a lot of emphasis is placed on the physical postures. In fact, Yoga is often promoted and taught as a just another form of physical exercise, particularly at gyms and fitness studios, maybe with a bit of relaxation thrown in for those who have the time.
